The 8th international junior tournament U-12 “The Cup of Sheriff 2011” has ended in the SC “Sheriff” indoor arena. The main prize was contested by U-12 players. The tournament was interesting and enthralling. The Cup’s destiny was decided on the last day of the competition.
FC “Sheriff” from Tiraspol and “FC “Metalist” from Kharkov competed for the main prize. The Ukrainian squad was here for victory. The team from Kharkov lacked 2 points by the leader. But the guest team did not manage to get the necessary result. Again our guys showed themselves to good advantage. The draw gave Nikolay Tsurkan’s team the chance to get the first place. Here is the list of the tournament places:
The sixth place was awarded to FC “Smena-Obolon” from Kiev, the best player is Mahut Dimidjiev.
The fifth place was given to FC “Buyukani-Dacia” from Chişinaú, the best player’s award is given to Ricardo Moroy.
The fourth place was awarded to FC “Minsk”, the best player is the team captain – Andrei Kolomatskiy.
The third place was given to FC “Tiraspol”, the best player is Roman Plotyan.
The second place was awarded to FC “Metalist” from Kharkov, the best player is Theodor Ovakimyan.
The winner of the Cup of FC “Sheriif” is the host team (coached by Nikolay Tsurkan). The best player of the team is Denis Mokalich.
The tournament organizing committee defined the best players according to their positions:
The best goalkeeper of the tournament is Dmitriy Marakura, FC “Metalist”
The best fullback of the tournament is Nikita Melnik, FC “Sheriff”
The best halfback of the tournament is Artem Melnichenko, FC “Metalist”
The best forward of the tournament is Nikki Kletshenko, FC “Buyukani-Dacia”
The best goal-scorer of the tournament is Nikolay Solodovnikov (FC “Sheriff”), who scored 5 goals in 5 matches.
After the closing tournament ceremony, the head of the FootballAcademy “Sheriff” Evgeniy Malovata has expressed his opinion:
“First of all, let me congratulate the guys and the coach with this victory. We had 2 tasks in this tournament: the first one is to show the high level of performance, the second task is the final result. The first task was performed as “satisfactory”, as it was not always possible to control the ball. The team gave a good account of itself performing the second task and won the first place. Finally, I want thank everybody, as everybody contributed to the common work.
