FC “Sheriff” has introduced its new midfielder
/ 26 June
Yellow-black colors of Moldova Champion Football Club “Sheriff” from Tiraspol will be defended by Evgheni Gorodetchi – the former player of other Pridnestrovian capital club “Tiraspol”.
“I can play both as a midfielder and attacker and wing, there is no essential difference for me”, - Gorodetchi has declared on the press-conference today when he has been introduced to the journalists.

“A place in the first team is not guaranteed yet because Andrei Corneencov, Alexandr Suvorov, Soumaila Tassembedo play in my expected position now and they are earnest footballers so all depends on me and I will work at self-improvement very seriously”, - he underlines.

Commenting on the decision about increasing of the teams in the Moldova National Division up to 12, Gorodetchi notes that “the larger variety will make the Championship more interesting”.

“From the physical point of view, I think it will be under our power since in championships of other countries 40 matches are played per season and it is normal”,- he says.

The transfer fee amounts to USD 50 thousand. For the time being Gorodetchi has played one friendly game for “Sheriff” team. He hopes to play the Moldova Super Cup match against “Zimbru” from Chisinau on June 27, 2007. “I am looking forward to be fielded and doing all my best to help my team to reach the positive result”, - a newcomer says.

Evgheni Gorodetchi began to engage in football from the age of 5 in the Dnestrovsk junior sports school playing for FC “Chobruchi” in the Moldova youth championship. At the age of 15 he passed to the “Sheriff” junior team where became the champion of Moldova, after that he played for “Sheriff-2”, then – for FC “Tiraspol”.

In Moldova championships Gorodetchi played 76 matches having scored 6 goals and 6 matches for FC “Tiraspol” in Intertoto Cup competitions.
