Fred Nelson: «I dedicate the first goal to my mother»
«Dinamo» - «Sheriff» (0:2). The interview
/ 18 November
In the match "Dinamo" - "Sheriff" in the starting line-up of "yellow-black" was Brazilian midfielder Fred Nelson who had the fate to become the author of the first goal in this match. Thanks to happy coincidence that goal became the first one scored for "Sheriff" in the young player's career. We met Fred, congratulated him on that event and recorded the interview:

In what mood did you take the field?
- When people start playing football, they have only one desire - to win. When the match finished I felt happy. I was very glad that we won.

Why don't you speak about your contribution to the victory? You scored the goal, after all…
- I can't speak only about myself, all team won. My teammates passed me the ball, I scored. I did everything what the head coach taught me. We played out the scheme that we learnt many times during the trainings. And it gave the result.

It was your first goal scored for "Sheriff". Did you dedicate it to someone?
- When I was fielded, I wanted to score the goal and I knew that I would manage to do that. If there is a desire, you are able to do something over your possibilities. And I dedicate this goal to my mommy.

Who first congratulated you on the scored goal?
- Nadson was the first who congratulated me. He always repeated me: "You should score the goal, you should score the goal…"

While observing you on the field, there is an impression that you don't run but "soar" over the field. What is it - the legendary Brazilian technics?
- We have very intensive trainings in "Sheriff". It allows us to show such technics. Here, in contrast to Brazil, the trainings are at the higher level. That's why I'm in such physical form.

Where did you acquire football skills?
 - At the age of fourteen I went to play to the city of Santa-Katarina. It's 36 hours’ journey from my home. There my football career began. Then I was transferred to one of the teams of Sao Paulo, played for FC "Engenheiro Beltrao" on the terms of lease. And after that I play for "Sheriff".

In the field you look like "lively person", there is often smile on your face. Are you an open-hearted person? Do you have many friends?
 - Yes, I am open-hearted person. I see much but speak little. I have many friends and don't have enemies at all.

Have you made friends with someone in the team?
 - They are all my friends in the team, I have found the common language with everybody. But I communicate more with the Brazilians - Nadson and Da Costa - we speak the same language, after all.

How do you feel in Moldova? Have you already got used to cardinally changed conditions?
- I feel good, I've already adapted. The problem for any person who comes here from other country is a language barrier. You can see how people talk around you and look at them as a small child not understanding anything.
