Alexander Erokhin: «Star fever doesn't threaten me»
The interview with the man of the match
/ 11 November
Traditionally after the home matches of "Sheriff" we conduct voting on our site to determine a man of the match. This time we offered to the fans to determine the man of the match "Sheriff" - "Zimbru". 114 persons wished to express their opinion. Argentinian defender Luis Rodriguez ranked the honorable third place - 6, 1 % of the votes. The second place was again occupied by Constantin Arbanas - 37, 7 %. And the author of the only goal of "Sheriff", Alexander Erokhin was declared the man of the Sunday classico - 47, 4 % of the votes. As always, we congratulated and the player gave the interview.

Alexander Erokhin:

After the match the team was subjected to criticism and it was objective in some moments. What can you say in the justification for your colleagues?
- I completely agree that the first half was unsuccessful. For some reason the play was not getting on at all. I can't call the reason. I was watching the first half from the substitutes’ bench and couldn’t help the team. In the second half we had many goal-scoring opportunities, in particular, I had. I was fielded and equalized the score practically with the first touch. I had good luck in some way. Probably, the coach guessed with the substitute. It often happens when the player substitutes for someone and then scores the goal. The player who substitutes should strengthen the game, after all. The match was hard, the players were tired of runs, the defenders were tired. I came out "fresh" and scored the goal at once.

We wish to congratulate you on the scored goal. Do you remember how it was, or you did everything by intuition?
- It was the usual attack. There was the pass to the penalty area and I shot on the volley. Nothing original. In principle, each such attack should be finished with the goal.

It is necessary to say the supporters noticed that you changed your position from the defensive midfielder to the central forward. Is it temporary phenomenon?
- I don't know. While I am put to play on the position of the central forward, I will play on this position. Alexeev was injured, now Balima received an injury.
The forwards play in the starting line-up and there are only defenders and midfielders on the substitutes’ bench. Probably, I have taken the position of the central forward due to this lack.

It's not a secret they have high hopes for you in the future. Many young players change during such period. I think you even know examples of that. Do you have any recipe against "star fever"?
- I don't feel any pressure on me. "Star fever" (smiling) - I don't think it threatens me. There aren't recipes - you just should be yourself and estimate your actions reasonably. I have some friends who began with me and now they play on the higher level. They all are normal guys, nobody has become presumptuous.

Do you have idols and who is the ideal for you in football?
 - I have no any idols among players. There are football teams, in particular, “Barcelona”. I like how they play. There are many footballers who play on my position. I follow their successes - it’s Stephen Gerard, in "Barcelona" - the pair Iniesta-Havi. But even in my childhood I never imitated anybody from the "greatest".

Would you like to say something to the fans who voted for you on the site?
- It is pleasant that the fans vote and come to see football. Thanks them. I become the man of the match for the first time. It is better to play with fan's support, especially when they are on the stands. I remember the matches of the UEFA Champions League, when the stadium was full of spectators. You even play in another way. You take the field and receive a charge for the game from the stands. I will try to justify the fan's trust!
