Yesterday, the U-19 National Team of Moldova was one step away from the victory over the National Team of Italy. But there wasn't enough cool and experience. The visiting team got their revenge on the 2-nd of 5 additional minutes.

 

Among the players of our club were goalkeeper Dimitri Stagile, defenders Andrew Radiola and Maxim Alachev, forward Dimitri Vornishel, who played on the halfback position.

Konstantin Mandrichenko appeared on the field in the 42-nd minute. Dimitri Vornishel scored the 1-st goal. The "Sheriff" forward made the header under the cross-bar in the 5-th minute of the match (see photo). The 2-nd goal for the National Team of Moldova was scored by the player of Football Academy "Sheriff" Anatoly Keptine playing for FC "Tiraspol" now. When the score was 2-1, Vlad Goyan's players neglected two good goal-scoring opportunities during the added time. However, they were lacking in precision. Both goals of the Italians were scored by Ettore Medicino.

 

The matches of the 3-rd leg will be played on Tuesday. To qualify for the 2-nd round, the National Team of Moldova has to defeat Latvia, provided that Italy will not win the match against Russia.
