Leonid Kuchuk: “I had to make a bit of a noise in the interval”
“Sheriff” – “Iskra-Stal”. The coaches’ opinion
/ 22 April
FC “Sheriff” head coach Leonid Kuchuk: “The opposing team was defending itself very well and conducting counterattacks during all the game. We failed to build a dangerous and fast play. All pickings up were lost. We were at the advantage but let the opponents through to attack. So, I had to make a bit of a noise in the interval and explain my players how to play football. A good footballer should play not only by feet, one wins who thinks fast on the field. In the second half time we accelerated both play and our thoughts and goals came. We tried not to allow the opponents to develop their attacks. It worked well and the game was a success although the first half time was very hard.”

FC “Iskra-Stal” head coach Vlad Goyan: “A match against “Sheriff” is an index of preparedness at the moment. We play with teams of a lower level and show a good football but today “Sheriff” made it clear for all of us what place we stand. There is nothing to comment.

- What basic mistakes were made by your team in the match?
- There was no play, we poorly controlled the game and the opponent crushed us. A team which respects itself has no right to concede three goals following the set pieces in one match. It was the merit of “Sheriff” that we failed to build the play.
