Few words after the match
FC “Tiraspol” – “Sheriff”. The coaches’ opinion
/ 17 April
FC “Sheriff” head coach Leonid Kuchuk: Any Cup match is not simple. Especially because we have pair of matches. Today’s game was like a transitional duel. Cup matches have nothing in common with matches of the Championship. As regards play, we conducted two halves in different ways. Something turned out well, something didn’t work. I think everything will be decided in the return match.

- What moments were decisive in the game?

- We just couldn’t finish pressing out. As is often the case, you can be at an advantage but not in possession of the ball. An opponent should be smashed by set pieces. But we failed to realize such opportunities in today’s match. I was not satisfied with the play of my team during the set pieces. There was slowness on the field. I said the play had to be rapid, the team had to dominate over the opponents. Probably, I couldn’t convince the players.

FC “Tiraspol” head coach Vladimir Reva: Our participation in the semifinal match of Moldova Cup means our advance. The game was qualitative. We did all our best. The team tried to be in possession of the ball. “Sheriff” had the territorial advantage but we withstood pressure. In my opinion, only the next game will determine the team which will continue to play in the Cup matches.

- What moments were decisive in the game?

- I think the end of the match was more difficult for us. Age of players and lack of experience had an effect on the game. In addition, pressure from supporters was strong enough especially during the last minutes of the match. But I was satisfied with the play of my team.
