A festival was held once again at the Main Arena of SC “Sheriff” yesterday. It was the festival of football. The festival, that was created not only by the teams. That match became the real festival thanks to all supporters and spectators who visited the biggest Arena in National Division. As a result, the Moldavian classico was a great success. And not in vain after the match all players of FC “Sheriff” mentioned a 12th player of the team – its supporters. The stadium was living for the team, it was driving the team forward. And our players felt the support and ran forward, to the opposing goal.
Many people often complain about that our Championship is not interesting. But it turned out to be quite competitive even with matches of UEFA Champions League. And yesterday we were watching one of such matches.
It was clear from the beginning of the match that goals would be scored. Both teams decided to act without reconnaissance. “Sheriff” had two goal-scoring opportunities between the 4th and 8th minutes. At first, Thiago overplayed a half of the opposing team and broke into the penalty area but Negay moved forward and saved the goal. Then, after the corner kick, Rouamba shot wide from the distance of three meters.
The first goal was scored by the visiting team. Zhdanov fell down in the penalty area of the home team and Uzun pointed at the spot. In principle, Zhdanov’s shot which was precise should be repeated because 10 players of both teams at once entered into the penalty box before kicking. But it didn’t happen and the score became 0-1.
After that the real siege of “Zimbru” goal began. Negay rushed from one post to another, managed to deflect Rouamba’s next header after the corner kick, saved the goal from Picusciac’s shot, then kicked the ball out under Balima’s foot. But the attack didn’t finish yet and Mamah who appeared there netted the goal. 1-1.
“Zimbru” players came to their senses and began to answer with a snarl but it lasted about three minutes while our players kept on attacking. As a result, the second goal came. Thiago received the pass on the line of the penalty box, overplayed the defender and kicked with his left foot. The ball soared upwards and flew into the goal behind Negay’s back. Goal! All spectators sprang to their feet with the cry of joy.
The guests were not cast down and ran forward. Frantsuz carried out the free kick and Oleksich in two touches scored the goal. The figures on the scoreboard continued to change and, as it turned out later, not for the last time. It was expected. Faces of spectators radiated joy, it seemed to them that they were present at a match of the Champions league. They liked all.
During the second half the scenario didn’t change. “Sheriff” driven by the supporters moved forward. On the right flank Balima exhausted Shimich who hardly moved by the end of the game. In the first half Sevidov already on the 29th minute substituted for Erkhan who “died” in the fight against Balima (as the coach of “Zimbru” said on the press conference) already on the 3rd minute. And the goal came after 20 minutes of the second half. Picusciac received the ball, overplayed the defender and made the pass to Rodriguez who was breaking into the penalty box. The excellent header of the Argentinean finished the attack.
“Zimbru”made an attempt to reply but our players didn’t allow them to do it for the third time. The very dangerous moment was created near Melenciuc’s goal already during the added time when Armash hit the cross-bar. Butheretofore thescorealreadystood 4:2. Itwasthefinalscore.
