Yesterday, 9.000 spectators on the stands and those who watched live broadcast of the match on TSV channel (it was the only TV channel that broadcast the central match of the spring part of the Championship) could see probably the most interesting duel of this year in the National Division. It was the match “Sheriff” - “Dacia”. The first team of the Championship played against the second one. There was only one point between them. The weather was good, the stadium was almost full. And, how it turned out later, the teams showed very good play. What football match could be better than a match with stands full of spectators? Such football is taken in more interestingly. This thought was expressed by Leonid Kuchuk and Emil Karas in the post-match press conference.
“Sheriff” was the master of the situation during the whole match. It seemed “Sheriff” was stronger even at the moments when the visiting team was in possession of the ball. The team of Leonid Kuchuk met the opponents far away from its penalty box constantly pressing them and not allowing “wolves” to approach the penalty box. Nevertheless, “Dacia” episodically reached the area of Stanislav Namasco, but in the first half time of the match they managed to come into our penalty box only three times. In two cases the keeper of “Sheriff” played very well after shots from set pieces, and the third time was when Gushila scored the goal. Other two shots made by Gushila and Dwali were not difficult for the keeper of “Sheriff”.
On the other half of the field the play was more intensive, especially at the moments when the team of Leonid Kuchuk was in possession of the ball. “Dacia” built up its play with two wing midfielders Martin and Kalin who played on the positions of left and right defenders accordingly. So, both Thiago and Balima worked almost wonders on the flanks. As a result, the first goal was scored. Thiago easily overplayed Kalin and shot to the near corner of the goal. Moraru cleared the ball to the far post where Picusciac finished the attack by header. Goal! The score became 1-0. Then Picusciac hit the post. That shot was very dangerous and Moraru wouldn’t save the goal but the post helped.
And then Gushila scored the nice goal. After the cross pass our defenders lost sight of the forward of “Dacia” who, thanks to his right position, easily won the duel in air and netted the goal. The score became 1-1. After that conceded goal “Sheriff” started all over again - methodically, like on trainings, to disrupt the defense of the guests. And the goal came. It happened on the 66th minute. Thiago carried out the penalty kick, after the rebound the ball was received by Balima who netted the goal. 2-1. One stand kept silent while people in the whole stadium sprang to their feet.
The 66th minute could be decisive in that match. Could be but didn’t become. In spite of the fact that Arbanas got the second yellow card after kicking the ball to the centre of the field (for talks, as turned out after the match). Maybe it was correct, maybe no, taking into account that Sergey Zhapalay threw the ball away three times after giving a whistle not allowing our team to start the attack.
“Sheriff” was better and stronger at the end of the match when the home team could extend its lead. Leonid Kuchuk guessed right with substitutions of players. But the main thing was that he guessed right with the moments when the players had to be replaced.
But all that is a lyric. Since we watched the match between the teams which were worthy of each other. And both teams are worthy of their places in the league table. Such matches beautify the tournament and give a stimulus for developing football in Moldova.
