FC “Sheriff” is a current candidate to the IV Trofeo Invicto Don Balon (4th Don Balon Trophy to the Unbeaten Team). The trophy is under the auspices of the well-known weekly football magazine in Europe and are eligible to it any First Division (i.e., “topmost” division) clubs from all UEFA-affiliated countries. The winner is the team that stays unbeaten the longest from the beginning of the domestic league.
The 16 clubs that still remain unbeaten are the following: Santa Coloma (Andorra), Olimpik (Azerbaijan), Standard (Belgium), CSKA (Bulgaria), Anorthosis (Cyprus), Rabotniki (Macedonia), Beitar Jerusalem (Israel), Inter (Italy), Dudelange (Luxemburg), Sheriff (Moldavia), Cliftonville (Northern Ireland), Wisla (Poland), Oporto (Portugal), La Florite (St Marino), Partizan (Serbia), Red Star (Serbia).
The winners of the three previous editions were Partizan Belgrade (Serbia), Apollon Limasol (Cyprus) and Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldavia).
The award will be presented by a representative from “Don Balon”. It is a valuable ceramic bass-relief by the well-known Catalan artist Jordi Aluma, whose work is widely exhibited in the Olympic Museum of Lausanne, Switzerland, among others.
