This week the draw of Moldova Cup has taken place starting with one eighth of the final. By results of the blind draw in the first stage of the tournament, where main pretenders to victory enter into a fight, “Sheriff” will play the away match against “CSKA-Steaua” from Chisinau and “Zimbru” - the away match against “Dinamo” from Bendery. “Dacia” is going to play home match against “Podish”, “Cricova” will measure with FC “Tiraspol”. As well the following matches are arranged: FC “Floreny” vs. “Olympia” (the winner of this duel will become our opponent in the quarter final), “Tiligul” vs. “Gagauzia”, “Akademia” vs. “Polytechnica” and “Nistru” – “Beshiktash”.
The main pretenders to victory in Moldova Cup - “Sheriff” from Tiraspol and “Zimbru” from Chisinau – have been separated by the regulations on different strips of the tournament grid. The current Champion of Moldova and the present Cup Holder will be able to meet no sooner than in the final. Quarter-finalists of Moldova Cup will be determined by results of one game only. Matches of the 1/8 final will be carried out on October 7-8. |
