Yesterday, Moldavian U-17 National Team (coach Nikolay Mandrichenko) played the second match of the big International Tournament in Minsk. In group “B” the team, mostly formed of the foster children of Football Academy “Sheriff” (13 players), was defeated by the team of Russia by the score 0:1. The other match of group “B” between Italy and Belorussia ended with the victory of the Italian team by the score 3:0.

 

Let’s remind that the first match between Nikolay Mandrichenko’s team and the Italians ended in the draw 1-1. The goal was scored by Octavian Onofrey.

 

On Friday, January 11, the match Moldova – Belorussia (born in 1992) finishes the group stage of the tournament. In case of winning with the difference of more than 3 goals and the defeat of Italians in the match against Russia our team would have an opportunity to take second place in the group. At the moment Moldavia with one point occupies the third place in the group. Russia takes first place (6 points), Italy – second place (4 points).
