The big international tournament of national teams for players U-17 is taking place in Minsk. 13 players have been invited to the National Team of Moldova which is headed by Nikolay Mandrichenko. These are: Dmitry Stazhila, Oleg Zoitsa, Timur Valku, Alexander Skripchenko, Victor Trukhanov, Vadim Kostandaki, Sergey Georgiev, Georgy Nikologlo, Octavian Onofrey, Sergey Dyulger, Konstantin Mandrichenko, Sergey Kara and Vadim Murzak.
The National Team of Moldova has come into group “B” along with the teams of Russia, Italy and the home team of players born in 1992. In the first match the opponents of Nikolay Mandrichenko’s team were Italians. The game ended in the draw 1-1 and the only goal to the Italian team was scored by foster child of Football Academy “Sheriff” Octavian Onofrey.
Today the National Team of Moldova plays against the team of Russia which yesterday defeated the National Team of Belorussia-92 by the score 1-0. The last match of the group stage of the tournament has to be played against the home team on January 11, 2008.
