I am often asked on the post-match press conferences: “Will someone, for example “Dacia”, be able to win this championship?” I have one answer at this stage. You can judge about strength of a team only at the moment when all competitors have played the equal number of matches. After Euro Cups many gaps have appeared in the calendar. Some have passed all distance, others only one third of it. That’s why I consider the answer on this question should be postponed. When they write in a press that “Sheriff” has got up to the first place in the league table after the 13th leg only, it isn’t correct. We haven’t played 13 matches at that moment and some teams haven’t play either. It should be remembered that since the second leg many teams lagged behind the whole championship for three-four games. The real race for winning the champion title would start with the leg after which all teams would have the equal number of matches played.
At this day it’s possible to talk about one thing only. The level of the teams participating in the tournament has notably increased. The growth of skills of the teams has occurred in Moldova. Why? The fact is that the level of Moldavian coaches working for National Division clubs has greatly increased. And it has increased because coaches begin to learn more. The extension courses conducted by Football Federation of Moldova give an opportunity not only to obtain a license. The coaches of the top Moldavian Division have learnt to train a play. To conduct training and to train a play are the different things. As well they have learnt to set a team play understanding that the result depends not on the number of forwards but on the fact that a team is a unit, a collective which shouldn’t be divided into separate individuals. Many teams of the Moldavian elite have begun to play a zonal football. Before now we were surprised how players of top teams, passing the ball even with their eyes closed, made exact passes in spite of the type of a pass, whether it was long or short.
All innovations that have appeared in the Moldavian football inevitably put it forward. Someone gets good results, someone - not good enough. In order to increase the level more you should raise it not only by the extension courses for local coaches. There are several factors that have an effect on the development of the worldwide most popular game in one or another country.
You have to understand that the growth is impossible without proper educational-training bases, fields, stadiums, comfortable dressing-rooms etc. As for now in Moldova there are only two stadiums which meet the requirements. These are “Sheriff” Stadium and “Zimbru” Stadium. After all, a stadium is not only a field. This is a dressing-room from which no one could take player’s goods away, this is a field which you daily have to look after, it’s stands and respective service for spectators.
There are not too many players In Moldova who correspond to the National Division level. And so, each team of the National Division must have its own school, even a small one but allowing children to train every day there.
The government program of football development must be worked out and implemented in Moldova as it was done in other countries. Why has the football level notably increased in Turkey and Russia? Because such programs have already worked in Turkey for more than 10 years and in Russia they have worked for a few years. And, accordingly, investments appear. Moldova is the country with good climatic conditions for developing football. You can play football here 9 months of 12.
The journalists’ activity is very important as well. Reporters have to promote the development informing supporters about football, its events, about matches of the National Championship. They say a little about that in newspapers and on TV.
If all this was organized and developed the level would certainly increase even greater. |
