Veaceslav Rusnac: “Mixed feelings left”
We have mixed feelings left. It seems to be a very good result 0:0 but we always want more. We wanted to win, we had a good chance to score a goal at the end of the game but we were not lucky enough. Anyway we are grateful to guys for the character they showed. For some of them it is the first game on such a top level. I think everything will get much better further on.
It seemed that in the first half the team controlled the ball most of the time. In the second half, vice versa, there were quick upfield runs. Was it the plan for the game?
It seemed to us that in the first half we played long ball and there was not much of control. We would like to have more control of the ball. We tried to make every pass acute and to release. We started to compete with “Anji” in single combat, in strength and in jumping. In the second half we calmed down a little and we could balance the game.
Andrey Gusyn said that you acted on the defensive. Do you agree with that?
If the rival has the ball, we act on the defensive. If we have the ball, we attack. The team tried to play quickly to realize speed performance of our players. We got “Anji” in the middle zone, iw ould not say we acted on the defensive.
Do you think a goalless draw is a fair result?
I think, yes, it is a fair result. We wanted to win the first game but we should be honest, 0:0 is an optimal result.
Do you know “Tottenham” – “Tromsø” match result?
Yes, 3:0 for “Tottenham”.
Did “Anji” appear to be the team you expected them to be?
In general, we saw everything we expected. The only thing is that we did not guess with some of the strikers. We expected that Traore and Solomatin would be a couple of forwarders. As for the rest episodes – we were ready for them.
Did the rain affect the game somehow?
The guys were complaining that they could not control the ball because it kept on bounding off the wet lawn. But I think it is not an apology.
What is your estimation of “Sheriff’s” play?
I think we played good. But we can do it better…
