Serghei Paschenco: “I will share the joy with my family”
FC Sheriff goalkeeper Serghei Paschenco shared his emotions upon winning in the nomination “Moldova’s best goalkeeper – 2014”.
- To be honest, I did not expect it much. Besides me, there were many deserving candidates: Denis Rusu, who showed his good sides while European Cups, Artiom Gaidukevich, Georgi Georgiev. I am pleased and I say thank you to people who voted for me.
What does this award mean to you?
Perhaps, special football acknowledgement from people who take part in the formation of Moldavian football. I am pleased but I am excited for success and achievements of common goals with FC Sheriff.
How will you celebrate today’s prize?
With my family. My daughter is waiting for me at home so I will come back home and will share my joy with my family.
What was this year like for you and for FC Sheriff?
As for me personally, this year was a difficult one because I had some problems with my former club, and I did not have the right to play for half a year. Thank you to FC Sheriff for letting me train. I felt support as from the part of the management, as well as from the part of the coaching staff and team members. And you know yourself what this year was like for the team. We failed the selection to the Champions League. We hoped and believed we will enter Europa League group stage but unfortunately, we could not do that. We have definite problems in the championship. Taking into account the tasks of the club, we are not in the position we should be. It means the spring part of the championship will be more interesting. We have many games ahead and we believe we will take the first place by the end of the season.
