Mislav Karoglan: «We have a very strong motivation to work»
Head coach of FC “Sheriff” Mislav Karoglan about the match of the 3rd round of the Super League against FC “Petrocub”:
- What was the match like for your team?
- We started the game well and had opportunities to score, but neither Badolo nor Jade used chances in the first half. We played a very good first half. At the same time, Petrocube have a good team and they showed good soccer, both in tackling and holding the ball. I want to wish them good luck in the match against Bulgarian Ludogorets in European tournaments. I want to congratulate our management, team and fans for a good match. We had a good motivation to do a good job today.
- How difficult was it to get to the Championship matches?
- We had very little time to prepare the team for the matches, and it was possible to shift the responsibility to others. But it is our responsibility. At the beginning of our work there were small problems, we did not know the team. Together with my staff we had to analyze the problems that exist in the team. We are analyzing this step by step, and we are trying to instill our principles, to give the team our own style of play, which will not complicate the actions on the field. We have a very strong motivation to work.
- What were the most difficult moments in the match?
- “Petrocube” created a lot of problems in pressing, they closed the zones well.They left a very good impression in organizing the game with four or even more players.We analyzed their game well and the guys did a good job with it.We played well on defense.In the second half we tried to play more vertically.There is still work to do and every day we will try to play more vertical soccer.
So far we are not very good at this component. The use of diagonal passes is, you can say, the mother of soccer.
- Mamuchashvili played his first match today. What impressions did he leave on you?
- He was good and stable. He plays in a position where you need to move a lot. He still needs time to adapt to the team, but for the first match he played reliably.
- Why didn`t Bayala play?
- I think he will appear in the next match. There were some organizational issues, which are being solved.
