Michel Huff about his life, his plans and his barbecue
FC Sheriff physical trainer Michel Huff did his first interview to FC Sheriff Press Office and told about his life, his plans and about why he is called «barbecue specialist».
-I'm very glad to be part if FC Sheriff. I like everything here –infrastructure, players, coaches. I have a big willing to work here and to be useful for it.
Please tell us about yourself, about your education…
In general, I studied 5 years in Football University. It was in Brazil. There was a time when I played mini-football and just trained big football junior teams. Football is my life!
What goals do you have in FC Sheriff?
We can be better every day and we have to do this, because football is such kind of sport when you can get know something new every new day. We want to become champions and we have everything we need.
We know that you are working up individual program for top-level players. How will you work in FC Sheriff? Individually only?
We are going to work individually as well as in team. Of course, we will pay attention not only on physical exercises but also on ball game.
Team play is indispensable part of football. Recovering is also very important for football players. We should take care of players’ physical conditions on the pitch and choose the best recovering way.
Anyway, for whom did you work up individual programs?
It was Diego Souza, Josa Sosa, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Martin Demichelis and many others.
You were coach, and friend, and guide, and translator, and barbecue specialist. How did you succeed in all this things?
While the training process, I was so involved in work. Out of pitch I'm always ready to help any player and any coach. Out of trainings I'm elder brother and father for my players. It is fine, they like when their coach is their for them not only at the training sessions but also after them. What about barbecue, I was considered its specialist in FC Metalist. I grew up in South Brazil, local people love fried meat. There were Brazilian football players in FC Metalist, which were in love with barbecue. Once they made barbecue and I tasted it. After this time I said next time is mine. My meat was very tasty, that's why I was called barbecue specialist.
What is your barbecue secret?
Good fire and meat without blood. But that's not all. (laughing)
How do you marinate your meat?
There's nothing special. Just meat and salt.
We know about interesting situation with Bruno Alves. Please tell us about this…
When we were in UAE with FC Metalist, we trained on sands. St.Petersburg «Zenith» players were next to us. Bruno Alves saw me and listened what I was saying to players. After training session he approached and said: I want FC Zenith to have such a coach. I told him that I had contract with FC Metalist and I couldn't leave. To be sincere, I was touched by his words.
