Hansel Zapata: "I am a very generous player"
Colombian midfielder Hansel Zapata about his new club, old friends, promises to fans and his generosity.
- Hansel, we are glad to see you on our team. Gone are the first days - what are the feelings?
- I am very happy to join the team - from the first minute of my arrival I was given a warm welcome. For me, as a player, this is very important.
- What is it for a Colombian player, who played mainly in his own country, to go to Europe?
- This is a great opportunity to be in Europe, and being in Sheriff is a great challenge. I know that Sheriff is a team that is constantly in the first places in the local championship. Now we have the Champions League and we have to work hard to reach the group stage.
- Two Colombians already play in FC Sheriff. What do you know about them?
- I had the opportunity to play together with Danilo Arboleda at FC La Equidad. Danilo is an excellent player, a very cheerful person. It's great to meet him again in this big team. I met Frank Castaneda when we played in Colombia. He always showed himself from the best side. Then he was good on the field. And now, I think he is the best player in the championship. It will be a great opportunity to work with him on the pitch.
- You played in the most famous club in Colombia - Millionarios. Now your path is connected with the most titled club in Moldova. What thoughts do you have?
- Millionarios is a great club in Colombia. Now my path is connected with FC Sheriff. There is only one desire - to win always. I want to achieve titles with the new club and go through with my teammates to the group stage of the Champions League.
- Judging by your statistics, you assist your partners a lot. No craving to score goals?
- I am a very generous player in relation to teammates. I always try to get the most out of my teammates. I also want to score goals for FC Sheriff, so that it is always on the first places.
- What can you say to the fans of your new team?
- I would like to greet all the fans of FC Sheriff. I intend to give my very best, to improve my game, to help the club rise to the very top. I want our fans to continue to celebrate our victories and our titles.
