Croatian forward of the first team of FC Sheriff Gabrijel Boban told about his double in the match of the 8th tour of the Championship of Moldova in the National Division, about the components of a good forward and about the draw of the Champions League.

 

- Gabrijel, congratulations on victory and goals scored. How can you comment on the last game in the Championship?

- Our victory was absolutely deserved, and we played well most of the match, except for a few bad episodes.

 

- Did you assume that the final score would be major?

- We knew that our team had the best players, but the final result - 4: 1 does not reflect how difficult the match was. A very hard game. The character was very similar to a real derby.

 

- When a striker does not score, he is criticized. What do you think about it?

- A striker is best known with his numbers of goals, that is final proof of his accomplishments. I am awared of this all the time. Modern striker isnt just forward, he must help his team in defense, I like to say that striker is first defender. Beside that, he must participate in organizational part of game and, at the most imortant end, finishing the attacks with scoring and assisting.

 

- In the Championship, we play without defeat for eight tours - is there pressure in the team before the upcoming games?

- We are happy with 8 winings in 8 matches and with only 1 received goal. I would prefer it to stay that way until qualifying in Europe. Positive pressure is necessary because we have just begun our mission and Europe is already near. We have to stay focused in every match and get better and better.

 

- On August 9, the draw for the first qualifying round of the Champions League took place - what do you think about that?

- We will play this match at home in our beautiful stadium. We have the strength to play with any opponent. Everything depends solely on us.

 

- You already have last year's performance experience. What to expect this season?

- This year our mission is to do better in Europe than last season. Our first big goal is to reach the Champions League playoffs.
