FC Veris – FC Sheriff
The victory was for FC Sheriff in the central match of the 11th round which allowed FC Sheriff lead the standings.
FC Veris started domination over the acting champion of Moldova. Petr Raku was on the offensive end but he could not outplay Serghei Paschenco. Our goalkeeper made other good saves after the shots by Bogdanovich and Kalinkov. In 20 minutes FC Veris lost a great chance to score. FC Sheriff defense missed Vasily Karaush who was left alone and sent a shot. However, Paschenco performed a fantastic save. Then it was FC Sheriff’s turn to come closer to the opponent’s goal. Vadim Pairelli made a one touch shot but failed. On 35th minute FC Sheriff was awarded a penalty. Ricardinho was to deliver the penalty shot but he missed. Despite the unconverted penalty our team played well in the last five minutes of the half. At first Juninho Potiguar turned home, then Kadu got the pass from Pairelli and doubled the scoring. Alexander Kucherenko was about to score to our team but the ball hit the crossbar.
In the second half FC Sheriff controlled the course of the match and by 60th minute the third goal was scored. Ricardinho did use his chance and outplayed Gaidukevich. FC Sheriff could score more goals after attacks by Pairelli, Kadu, Potiguar. In one of the episodes Veaceslav Akimov was close to score but Paschenco did a good job.
The important victory by FC Sheriff makes Zoran Zekic’s team the sole leader of the championship.
