FC Petrocub – FC Sheriff (0:1)
Sheriff wins Petrocub in an away match and keeps on fighting to win the championship.
Our team took the advantage as of the first minutes. Jo Santos sent a dangerous header but it was higher the goal. In the middle of the half our team was awarded a penalty. Benjamin Balima sent a shot to the box but it got right into Petrocub defender’s hand, however the match continued. Jo sent a pass to the far post but neither Novikov nor Subotic turned it home. One of Petrocub players changed the direction of the ball with his hand. Subotic did not miss from the spot. By the end of the half Sheriff lost a real chance to score. Subotic performed a flick header after Jo’s penalty shot, however Petrocub goalkeeper Victor Buga stroke it aside.
In the second half the picture did not change. Subotic responded to Galesic’s pass but Buga made an incredible save. Galesic was about to be the goal-scorer but his long-ranged shot hit the crossbar. The opponent hardly performed any dangerous shots by Sheriff goal. A few minutes before the end Petrocub players had a chance to score but they didn’t convert it.
After MD20 the position in the standings remained the same with the following leaders: Dacia, Sheriff and Zimbru. Today FC Zimbru lost to FC Milsami and thus probably lost their chance to win the championship.
