Examener from National Division
Today, FC Sheriff second team had another friendly in the preseason training. Luka Pavlovic’s squad faced FC Petrocub team that last season set third in the National Division standing.
The rivals immediately showed their serious intentions by a series of dangerous attacks. In the 24th minute, Lilian Popescu’s side opened the score. A dangerous cross by Arkadi Russu was sent into own goals by Igor Kiperi, the Yellow-Blacks defender. That goal confused our players, affecting their performance even stronger. 10 minutes later, the defenders failed to block a precise shot from Artyom Puntus that resulted in 0-2 score.
Soon, Maxim Potirnike managed to excel. FC Sheriff former defender scored from a high-ball corner kick.
In the second half, our guys began to play in composite style, but still were lack of composure. As an example – an episode with Vsevolod Nikhaev: the Wasps made a good combination, brought him on a shooting position, but he shot over the goal.
Substitutes Eduard Grecul and Mikhail Kaimakov, who played the entire game, had a great chance to unseal the Petrocub goal. The Yellow-Blacks led a dangerous attack from the play and set pieces, but again couldn’t score: 0-3.
Next friendly FC Sheriff reserves will play on 14 February against football club Spicul Chiscareni.
