Serbian goalkeeper Dusan Markovic, the new goalkeeper of FC Sheriff, gave his first interview to the club's press office:

 

- Dushan, we are glad to welcome you to FC Sheriff. What can you say about your new stage in your football career?

- Thank you very much, I am very glad to have signed a contract with FC Sheriff. I am happy to be in the new team, happy to have changed the championship. There is an opportunity to test myself in new conditions.

 

- Why did you decide to leave FC Rad and the Serbian Championship?

- My contract with Serbian FC Rad has expired, I did not extand it. Then a new offer appeared, and I decided to come to Tiraspol. I have now taken an important step in my personal career. I understand that Sheriff is a team with ambitious plans. I am captivated by the annual struggle for the championship gold and the team's participation in European competitions.

 

- How did you end up at the goal in this wonderful game?

- I started playing in midfield at the age of 10-12. Then I understood that I lacked the necessary speed. Gradually, it was decided to move me to the goal. Since then I have been playing on the last line of defense.

 

- Are there people among the goalkeepers from whom you want to learn something?

- I am impressed by the play of Jan Oblak and Steve Mandanda, maybe I would learn something new from them. Since childhood, I have been led by many coaches. The coach of the goalkeeping academy of FC Rad Boyan Petrovic improved my skills the most, many thanks to him for that.

 

- What are your criteria for a good game of a modern goalkeeper?

- I think this is a good playing with legs, solid performance at standarts, first pass, plus a good reaction on the goal line.

 

- What does it mean to you to play for FC Sheriff?

- In short, this is a game for pleasure and dedication. I understand that I will need to show myself first, no one canceled the competition. But if I was not ready for it, I would not have signed the contract. It is necessary to prepare step by step in order to play confidently in the championship and in European competitions.
