Benjamin Balima: “I intend improving effectiveness at the expense of the individual trainings”
In the match against “Rapid” you were fielded only in the middle of the second half. Did tiredness have an impact on you?
- Yes, I arrived the day before the match. Heretofore I had played the full match for the National Team and then had the flight. Of course, I was tired. The head coach asked me before the match whether I would be able to play the full game vs. “Rapid”. I preferred to play one half only in order not to let down the team.
Last season you often scored and became the best scorer of the Championship. This season you scored two goals only. How comes it? And how do you plan to improve your effectiveness?
- You have asked this question every time. If I knew the reason I would undoubtedly resolve the problem. As to my effectiveness, I intend improving it at the expense of the individual trainings.
The half of the Championship has been already played, with some opponents “Sheriff” played twice. What team was it more difficult to play with in this season?
- In my opinion, it was more difficult to play against “Milsami”. They are very strong now. It’s the good team.
The next match will be played vs. “Olimpia” from Balti – the team with the very good defense that does not make many mistakes. By this rate only “Sheriff” is better. Taking into account some problems with converting goal-scoring opportunities, how does “Sheriff” plan to win the match?
- It is in the competence of the head coach to decide how we will have to play and which tactics to use. Now we work on converting goal-scoring opportunities and final touches. I think, we’ll manage to get good results soon.
Only three games remain before the winter break – with “Olimpia”, “Nistru” and “Tiraspol”. Which game, in your opinion, would be the most difficult?
- From my point of view, all three games are important and we have to prepare for each of them very seriously. Of course, everything is easier at home, so the most difficult match will be the away one.
