Andrei Corneencov: "The only thing which pleases is that the team kept the clean sheet in three tours"
The assistant head coach of the youth team of FC Scheriff Andrei Corneencov commented on the match of the 3rd tour of the Championship of reserves against reserves of Dinamo-Auto. Trainees of Sheriff Academy overcame "motorists" having scored two unanswered goals.
- Our children controlled the whole match since first minutes of the game. In the first half, unfortunately, we didn’t manage to finish the attacks by the scored goal. The reason – quality of the field plus the rival played rather orderly and disciplined in defense. But we were sure that we will score. In the break some adjustments in actions of our players were introduced, and soon it bore fruit. Many boys play for their age and for reserves. Our task is as soon as possible to establish game relations. The only thing that pleases now is that the team kept the clean sheet in three tours. And we always have chances, and we will hope for higher effectiveness.
- On what specifically was the focus placed before the second half?
- The team of rivals sat low and dense on their half of the field. It was difficult to break their defense in the center. Decided to attack more with flanks to stretch more defensive redoubts of the home team. Began to load more our players of the attack with the ball in the goalkeeper area.
- In the first half the team made many cross passes without sharpening. Why didn’t we manage to disclose the defense of rivals by individual skill of our players?
- In such games it is difficult to show this quality as the rival covered players of the attack on its half in number. Therefore we actually relied on flanks. We demanded from our players to sate with the sharp passes the penalty area of the home team. As a result it brought us a victory.
