Anatole Abang: "The competition in FC Sheriff is high"
Cameroon forward Anatole Abang about himself and his career:
- Anatole, welcome to FC Sheriff. What does a person feel when he joins a new team?
- Many thanks. I am very happy to be part of FC Sheriff. The team has a great atmosphere, the boys are all good and friendly. I will try to give all my strength and energy to the team, new friends and colleagues. I was under trial until this moment. All the time I was here, making new acquaintances, training - all this very motivated me to stay and continue my football path with FC Sheriff. I'd like to thank everyone who gave me the opportunity to be here. Many thanks to the management that signed the contract with me. Many thanks to our head coach for the trust. I have a good opportunity to show myself.
- Tell our supporters and fans about yourself and your character.
- I like to be happy, cheerful and positive. I joke a lot. Sometimes I’m even a little crazy in this regard. But at the same time, I work a lot on the football field and take the game very seriously. If there are mistakes, I try to fix them faster, to fix the situation.
- Share information about your club career, games for the national team of Cameroon.
- I started playing football since childhood. My grandfather is also a football player. At his time he also played for the national team. He inspired me. Thanks to him, I love football. This is our family tradition. My professional career began in the USA for the New York Red Bulls, then I played in Finland, Denmark and even China, and now I am in Moldova. I played for the national team in 2016, since then the coaches have not called me. The competition in the national team, of course, is high, but I did not play there for other reasons. This is the choice of head coach. I do not stop working to get again a chance to represent my country.
- What do you think about competition?
- I know that the competition in FC Sheriff is high. Many players, they want to get into the starting line-up. Everything will depend on how you fight for a place in the line-up, how you train. Do not forget that a lot depends on the head coach. Important matches are coming up domestically and in the international arena. I want to show my game and prove myself to the maximum.
